Tikehau Fafarua Lodge is a love letter to the authentic Polynesian way of life. Owned and hosted by Evalina and Patrick, the lodge offers a curated "all-in" experience where the luxury lies in the total seclusion and the beauty of the Tuamotu archipelago. Built in 2014 in the traditional Pa’umotu style, the villa is an open, airy home designed to catch the trade winds. Guests enjoy a 21st-century castaway experience with modern comforts supported by solar energy and a freshwater filtration system. Whether you are swimming with manta rays (the island's namesake) or dining on "rod-to-fork" seafood prepared by your hosts, Fafarua provides a deep, spiritual connection to the lagoon.
Accommodations & Design The lodge features a single 3-bedroom Polynesian villa (approx. 2,150 sq. ft.) constructed from natural materials and designed for total transparency with the environment.
The Bedrooms: Three colorful individual bedrooms. One features a double bed, while the other two each provide a double and a single bed, all equipped with high-quality linens and mosquito nets.
The Primary Suite: The upstairs bedroom acts as the premier retreat, offering elevated views over the coconut canopy to the lagoon and the open sea beyond.
Design: Simple and colorful with typical sheet-metal roofs, open-plan kitchens, and indoor-garden bathrooms. A separate Fare Potee (outdoor lounge) serves as the social heart for dining and relaxation.
Amenities & Inclusions The Fafarua experience is defined by its comprehensive, personalized inclusions:
The "Motu Boat": Your stay includes a private boat and pilot for daily personalized excursions—visit "Bird Island," explore pink-sand beaches, or swim with manta rays at your own pace.
Gastronomy: Full catering is included, featuring French-Polynesian fusion cuisine. Your hosts adapt the menu to your tastes using local organic produce and the day's fresh catch. Homemade lemonade, coffee, and tea are complimentary throughout the day.
Marine Gear: Unlimited use of stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkeling equipment.
Connectivity: Despite its remote location, the lodge provides free high-speed internet (approx. 30 Mb/s) within the villa.
How Private Is This Island? Privacy at Fafarua absolute. By policy, the lodge only hosts one party at a time, meaning you have the entire 15-acre motu to yourself. Your hosts live on the far side of the island to provide 24/7 assistance and culinary service, but they remain "present but invisible" to ensure your solitude. Located a 30-minute boat ride from the nearest village, there are no neighbors and no public foot traffic. It is a secure, water-locked sanctuary where the only "intruders" are the local bird colonies and the marine life passing through the hoa (channels).
