Cedar Lake Fishing Lodge

Cedar Lake Fishing Lodge is a quintessential Northwestern Ontario retreat. The lake itself is a massive, tea-colored waterway spanning 11 miles, famous for its intricate shoreline, hidden weed beds, and rock reefs. Unlike fly-in lodges, Cedar Lake offers the convenience of driving to the front door while maintaining a deep-sense of Canadian wilderness. It is a preferred choice for multi-generational fishing trips and serious anglers seeking the "Grand Slam" of Ontario freshwater fishing: Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and the elusive Muskie.

Accommodations & Design The 11 cabins are built in the traditional Northwoods style—sturdy timber frames with screened-in porches to enjoy the evening air without the insects. While the exterior is rustic, the 2026 updates have ensured high-speed Wi-Fi access and updated kitchen appliances in all units. Each cabin is fully self-contained with its own kitchen, bathroom, and charcoal grill. The layout is tiered along the shoreline, ensuring that every cabin has a direct view of the lake and is within a short walk of the central dock system.

Amenities & Inclusions The lodge’s facilities are purpose-built for the rugged outdoorsman.

The Fleet: Features 16-foot Lund boats equipped with 20HP or 25HP Yamaha four-stroke motors. A full-service bait and tackle shop is located on-site, providing live minnows, leeches, and expert advice on "what's biting."

Fish Processing: A modern, screened-in fish cleaning house is available for guests to prep their daily catch, with freezer space provided for taking fish home.

Leisure: Includes a central lodge with a pool table, satellite TV, and a small library. The grounds feature a swimming area and a lakeside fire pit for nightly bonfires.

Service: A dock-hand service is available to help gas up boats and assist with loading/unloading gear each morning.

How Private Is This Island? While Cedar Lake Fishing Lodge is a mainland "drive-in" resort rather than a private island, it offers a distinct "sovereign" feel due to its 100-acre private property and the limited number of other lodges on the lake. The cabins are spaced to provide visual privacy, and the 6,000-acre lake is large enough that you can spend an entire day in a hidden bay without seeing another boat. For those who want the private island experience, the lodge can coordinate "shore lunch" trips to uninhabited islands within the Cedar Lake chain, giving you a 100% private wilderness kingdom for the afternoon.
