Crow Rock Island, Ontario

Crow Rock Lodge is a world-class destination for the serious angler who doesn't want to sacrifice a hot shower and a gourmet meal. Operating since 1980, the lodge is famous for its strict conservation policy (Catch and Release), which has preserved Lake of the Woods as one of the best fisheries for Walleye, Muskie, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Lake Trout. The "Crow Rock Experience" is unique because it grants guests exclusive access to seven "walk-in" lakes—pristine bodies of water where you can be the only angler for the day. It is a place of loon calls, northern lights, and "Shore Lunches" where the morning's catch is fried over an open fire.

Accommodations & Design The island features a collection of private guest cabins designed to be a "home away from home" with panoramic views of the lake.

Guest Cabins: Every cabin is equipped with 24-hour electricity, heating/air conditioning, full bathrooms, and screened-in porches.

The Primary Suite Experience: While each cabin offers a similar level of rustic comfort, the Sunset Point Chalet (on a neighboring private island) is the premier choice for groups of 4–8, offering a completely private home with solar power and deluxe amenities.

Design: Traditional Canadian lodge aesthetic—pine interiors, comfortable beds, and proximity to the water’s edge. Daily maid service is included in all packages.

Amenities & Inclusions The Crow Rock package is highly specialized for nautical adventure:

The Fleet: Guests receive 18-foot bass-style boats with 50hp four-stroke motors, Humminbird fish locators with GPS mapping, and all fuel.

Gastronomy: The American Plan includes three meals a day: a hearty breakfast, a packed boat lunch or a guided shore lunch, and a multi-course dinner in the Main Lodge (famed for its wild-rice-stuffed chicken and key lime pie).

The Lounge: A fully licensed lounge with satellite TV and multiple tables for cards or discussing the day’s fishing.

Connectivity: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the main lodge and cabins.

How Private Is This Island? Privacy at Crow Rock is built into its boat-in status. With no road access, the island remains a peaceful sanctuary from mainland noise. While the Main Lodge hosts several groups at once, the sheer size of the surrounding lake means you can spend your entire day without seeing another boat. For those who demand absolute isolation, the resort's Sunset Point and Cloverleaf Island outposts are entirely private islands where your group is the only one present. Security is natural; the 17-mile boat buffer from Kenora ensures that the only visitors are those invited to experience this legendary corner of the Ontario wilderness.
