LittleIsland Lighthouse

Little island Lighthouse (Litløy Fyr) is a rare example of "emotional luxury" where the primary amenity is profound silence. Purchased and painstakingly restored by Elena Hansteensen, the island operates with a deep respect for its 1912 heritage and the environment. It is entirely self-sufficient, utilizing solar power and harvested rainwater. There are no cars, no shops, and no streets. Guests are invited to live "in the rhythm of the light," experiencing the Midnight Sun in summer and the Aurora Borealis in winter. It is a destination that balances the raw power of the Atlantic with the warmth of a library lounge and a handmade Hästens bed.

Accommodations & Design The property features two distinct historic buildings, blending 20th-century maritime architecture with modern Scandinavian minimalism.

The Lighthouse Tower Suite: A three-floor luxury suite housed within the original octagonal tower. It features a hand-crafted Hästens bed and panoramic views of the Lofoten mountains.

The Keeper's Residence: Contains three double ensuite bedrooms (Yellow, Purple, and Blue rooms). One room features a glass ceiling, specifically designed for viewing the Northern Lights from bed.

The Primary Suite: The Tower Suite serves as the island's most exclusive offering, providing total vertical privacy and 360-degree Atlantic vistas.

Amenities & Inclusions The "All-Inclusive" experience is tailored to the island's remote location:

Gastronomy: All meals are included, featuring seasonal "island-to-table" dishes like local cod, seaweed tartare, and signature island berry jams.

Nature & Exploration: Guests have access to the 40-meter-deep Trollhola cave, guided tours of the lighthouse history, and birdwatching for white-tailed eagles.

Sea Activities: Complimentary use of sea kayaks for exploring the jagged coastline (weather permitting).

Wellness: A communal library with a fireplace and an open-air bath for soaking under the Arctic sky.

How Private Is This Island? Privacy at Littleisland is absolute. As the only inhabited building on the 0.5-square-kilometer island, the lighthouse offers a "gated" feeling provided by the ocean itself. There are no neighbors and no public access except by the resort’s private boat. While the island is open to a maximum of 8 guests, the vastness of the cliffs and trails ensures you can wander for hours in total solitude. For those seeking a secure, off-grid fortress for creative work or deep reconnection, the island’s distance from the mainland provides a physical and mental barrier against the modern world.
